The problem

What I built

Shipped a full-stack campus events platform in 8.7K+ lines with verified sign-up, search, RSVPs, waitlists, and moderation.

How it works

• Next.js 14 (App Router) + React 18 + TypeScript
• PostgreSQL via Prisma
• Tailwind CSS
• Vitest (unit/integration, run against a real Postgres) + Playwright (e2e, with axe-core accessibility scans)
• Event-driven jobs (waitlist promotion on cancellation/capacity increase, all notification delivery) run inline in the server action that triggers them — see src/server/rsvp.ts, src/server/events.ts.

Tradeoffs and limits

This project does not currently have a hosted demo. Run and verification instructions live in the repository when available.

What I learned

Prevented overbooking with Postgres row locks, proven by a test that fires 20 concurrent RSVPs at a 1-seat event and confirms exactly one, plus 26 Vitest and Playwright tests against a real database with axe accessibility scans.
